"Sustainability in Science" - A New Webinar Exploring the Evolving Landscape of Sustainability

On 9th October 2024, the "Sustainability in Science" webinar was hosted on Microsoft Teams (2pm-3pm), presented by Lucy Moore, the Sustainability Manager at SLS Select Education.

The webinar provided an in-depth exploration of how sustainability is measured, along with a breakdown of key legislation that is shaping the field. One of the central themes discussed was the distinction between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), both of which play significant roles in shaping sustainability efforts.

A focus on lab sustainability frameworks was also provided, which offered a structured approach to implementing eco-friendly practices in laboratory settings. She also shared insights into how businesses and scientific organisations can work towards achieving net zero by utilising science-based targets.

The webinar catered to both seasoned sustainability professionals and newcomers to the field, offering valuable tools and insights for anyone eager to make a meaningful impact in their work.
