A pair of aluminum clamps which allow strip material to be investigated for breaking strain, strength etc. Each clam features wing-nut fixings and an attachment system which ensures freedom from slip. Typical investigations would include comparison of carrier bag material strength, comparison of paper strength including the grain of newspaper, stretch of fabrics and polythene etc. These clamps are designed for testing thin strips of various materials and provide an easy way of securely clamping the strip so that loads can be applied. These clamps are not suitable for testing low elasticity materials such as metal strips etc. Stretch of materials is usually measured by placing a meter rule alongside the testing clamp. The strip to be tested is folded around the small bar and then secured. Designed to hook on to the center peg of Forces Board System or standard laboratory clamp. Loading of the bottom clamp is by means of standard slotted weights.
