All electricity teaching modules can be powered from a d.c. power supply, batteries or a USB mains plug (the type used for mobile phone charging). All modules use 4mm connection leads which are available separately, if required. Four units will easily fit into a shallow Gratnells tray to aid storage. Modules can be brought individually, or EDU2108 contains 4 x Electricity Teaching Modules in Gratnells tray with Teaching Notes.

• Module 1

Mounted on a tough acrylic base, this module includes 3 x lamp holders with 6V lamps, 2 x toggle switches, and 1 x changeover switch. Useful for teaching basic circuits, including switching, series circuits and parallel circuits.

• Module 2

Mounted on a tough acrylic base, this module includes 1 x red LED, 1 x yellow LED, 1 x green LED, 1 x blue LED, 1 x bi-colour LED, and 3 x push switches. Useful for teaching switching, introduction to LEDs, polarity of LEDs, series circuits, and parallel circuits.

• Module 3

Mounted on a tough acrylic base, this module includes 1 x lamp holder with 6V lamp, 2 x changeover switches, 1 x motor, 1 x buzzer, and 2 x test clips (mounted crocodile clips). Useful for teaching 2-way switching (such as at the top and bottom of stairs), reverse voltage switching (motor spins in opposite direction), buzzers and polarity of buzzers, and electronic components such as resistors (by mounting in the clips).

• Module 4

A mounted battery holder, for use as a power supply, which has 4 x 1.5V C size cell holders mounted on a plastic base, with 4mm sockets to allow tapped outputs at 1.5V, 3V, 4.5V or 6V. The base has been formed to raise the sockets clear of the work surface below, allowing 4mm plug leads to be fully inserted. Batteries not included.
